Double Good Luck and Pre-Race Jitters

I caught this picture a few days ago after a huge storm. Double rainbows = double good luck. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

If you're racing, be sure to check out this excellent article "Conquer Your Pre-Race Jitters". I could identify with many of them.

What pre-race jitters do you get?
Yesterday I drove up a hill on my way home from work and said to myself "Man, I wish I had run that hill a few more times before Saturday's marathon." I'm good at questioning my training.

Pre race jitters? Nothing seems to help me but getting the darn race started.

  3. Ha - you'll be fine at the race! But I'm just like you, I think I'm the king of questioning my prep ... did I run enough long runs, did I get in the right speed work ... but it's usually fine! Have a great race a Logan ... it's one of my fav's! Can't wait to hear about it!

  5. That has to be my new favorite Fast Cory picture!

As for jitters: I get nightmares, nervous stomach, apparently questioning my injuries and making them up, questioning training, and thinking about changing things up at the last minute. I'm a freaking basket case!!!

That being said, I've been really calm since you sent me that article. The race is going to be sweeeeet. See you tomorrow, dark and early!

  8. Have a great race! I am sure the race will start and you will feel a wave of relief and calm with the opportunity to put all your training to good use. Looking forward to hearing how you do.

Most of my jitters come from logistics these days and calm by the time I am waiting for the start.
