Wednesday, June 13th 2012: 8 miles @ 11:07 minutes per mile. I ran on the Diamond Ranch dirt road and felt freakishly good the entire time. The miles floated by and I got to see a great sunrise. I also came across this critter which was surprisingly long:
Friday, June 15th 2012: 11 miles @ 11:36 minutes per mile. I wasn't able to get out to run until about 9:30pm after the kids got to bed. It was still
This run was pretty uneventful. The best part was a blast to the past when Richard Marx came on the radio. At the risk of public humiliation, I admit that I owned every Richard Marx cassette tape back in 7th grade. He was the MAN! I confess that I still like his tunes. And I heard the song "Springsteen" by Eric Church. Have you heard that one? It's a keeper.
Saturday night I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience and was able to run with a modern day Forrest Gump. Seriously! I'll have the full story and some pictures in the next day or two.
I hope you had a swell Father's Day. Do yourself a favor and watch this little Father's Day music video. I was laughing so hard that I cried. I think you'll like it. Enjoy!
Wow, that snake is pretty darn huge...glad you were able to avoid stepping on it! I came across a snake on a jog a couple months ago and it was maybe 1/3rd that size and it definitely shook me up a little.ReplyDelete
Happy Father's day yesterday!
I hope someday my miles feel like I'm just 'floating along'.ReplyDelete
Happy father's day!ReplyDelete
Stay cool out there - finished my 20 miler at 88 degrees yesterday, I was ready to quit running and take up professional knitting after that ... for about 5 minutes.
Aaand, now I have Hold on to the Night in my head.
I love Springsteen by Eric Church I put it on repeat all the time which probably means I will be tired of it soon. Nice snake! I saw a big green one this morning that made me jump pretty good to avoid it.ReplyDelete
Haha love the video thanks for sharing!
Nice snake picture! I would have been completely freaking out. Happy Father Day yesterday Cory!!ReplyDelete
Ugh- I don't even know what I would do if I came upon a snake (especially one that huge!) while running! I don't like snakes. I don't know how you run that far in that kind of heat- I am a big, big wimp.ReplyDelete
I'm not a fan of snakes. They're cool, but only from a distance. The distance from here to Utah is about right. :)ReplyDelete
That video cracks me up.
holy crap that snake is large and in charge! i just downloaded springsteen! Love it!ReplyDelete
Wow I am amazed you can still get in an 11 mile run that late. My bedtime is around that time. I love Springsteen by Eric Church. Perfect summer song! Hope you had a great father's day.ReplyDelete
I saw that snake picture on Facebook and freaked out a little bit till I saw the comments that it wasn't a rattler. Be careful out there!ReplyDelete
LOL at SuperKate's comment...ReplyDelete
This is the best ever title for a blog post. And the picture of him didn't disappoint.
DANG, I would definitely have to pay more attention if I was running into things like that! I am usually in la-la land!ReplyDelete
